TAWATEC – TActical WAtch TEChnology – is a Swiss watches trademark, owned by the SMW Swiss Military Watch Company SA, famous for their tritium watches. TAWATEC’s motto, “The darker the brighter“, stems from its trigalights, the watch self-powered illumination components. Both SMW and TAWATEC are now liquidated and the production of these watches is discontinued.
The trigalight self-powered illumination technology, which delivers luminescence without an external energy source, is delivered by hairlights (an mb-microtec proprietary technology) with an outer diameter of only 0.30 mm – the world’s smallest gaseous tritium light source (GTLS).
The TAWATEC EOD Diver MK II Automatic – EOD stands for “Explosive Ordnance Disposal”. EOD technicians are highly specialized in blasting, neutralizing, recovering and dismantling sea mines and other ordnance underwater and ashore. EOD special missions require a watch with non-magnetic properties; the EOD Diver’s anti-magnetic CFC (carbon fiber composites) case prevents any interference with detonators of mines and explosives. The large case shape (Ø 47mm) and dial (Ø 35 mm) of the EOD Diver guarantees for a maximum of legibility at any time of the day. The 20 ATM / 200 m water and pressure resistance are individually tested and guaranteed. Swiss Sellita SW200 automatic movement; self-winding mechanism with ball bearing, 26 Jewels, date regulator system and regulator corrector, 28’800 beats per hour (4Hz). Second hand stops when the crown is pulled.

The watch comes with both NATO strap and rubber band. NO BOX, will be delivered in the original pouch.
The watch is working and keeping a pretty precise time, but as for any other used or vintage watch, a basic revision is recommended.
Most of the watches that I am selling are liquidation or collector items, therefor I make no claims and give no warranty regarding continual accuracy of time keeping. Used, antique or vintage watches may need servicing, even if they are in good running condition. Unless otherwise stated they may need to be cleaned, oiled, adjusted or timed. I cannot guarantee a used watch to be waterproof or water resistant.
