Daniel Roth Ellipsocurvex Papillon DR115 (base GP3100) Automatic Watch Movement

Automatic chronograph watch movement Daniel Roth DR115 based on a Girard-Perregaux GP3100.

Technically, the mechanism of the Ellipsocurvex Papillon is mounted on the powerful caliber DR115, able to accommodate additional modules of complications developed and manufactured by Daniel Roth technicians and watchmakers. This 2.98 mm ultra-flat, self-winding movement specially modified to accommodate the Daniel Roth modules, features 27 jewels, plus 8 jewels for the system board. This movement provides a 45-hour power reserve.

The jumping time on disc placed at 12 o’clock, as well as the mechanism patented by Daniel Roth for retractable minutes hands, were both developed and produced by the Manufacture Daniel Roth in Sentier – Vallée de Joux.

As with all Daniel Roth timepieces, this movement is decorated with “œil-de-perdrix” and “Côtes de Genève”. Each piece of the movement is polished and angled by hand. Some parts of the plate and bridges are engraved.

Movement is marked DR 115 | SWISS | ADJUSTED TO HEAT COLD AND FIVE 5 POSITIONS | 27 TWENTY-SEVEN JEWELS. Oscillating weight in gold, marked DANIEL ROTH.

The movement works well and is keeping a pretty accurate time. As for any other vintage or used movement, a basic revision is recommended.
