CHOPARD Chronometer Grade Automatic Watch Movement ETA/Valjoux 7750

Chopard Geneve original watch movement for Mille Miglia watches or other compatible models.

The Chopard automatic movement is based on the automatic chronograph ETA/Valjoux 7750 and it has a lever escapement, 25 jewels, mono-metallic balance, 28,800 BPH, incabloc shock absorber. This is the one of the most popular automatic chronograph movements the Swiss watch industry has on offer, with a unidirectional winder and a click spring construction, and you can find it in many other Swiss watches. The Chopard approach to this base ETA 7750 caliber is very exquisite, there are not many 7750 watch movements in chronometer grade (top grade execution with individual serial number, and factory adjusted in 5 positions).

The key distinguishing features of the 7750 family are as follows:
Sub-dials at 6:00, 9:00, and 12:00 for chronograph hours, running seconds, and 30 minute chronograph counter, respectively
Conventional integrated center-mounted unidirectional automatic winding
Cam-controlled chronograph functions
Simple three-plate brass base:
– Calendar plate with modular components
– Main plate with off-center center wheel, hacking lever, and simple bent-spring ratchet
– Top plate with additional winding bridge
Etachron regulator and balance spring stud

The oscillating weight is decorated with “Cotes de Geneve” stripes and is engraved CHOPARD – GENEVE – SWISS. The movement has overlapping circular patterns “œil-de-perdrix” finishing and “Cotes de Geneve” stripes and is marked TWENTY-FIVE (25) JEWELS | ADJ. TO FIVE (5) POS., 7750 and the ETA logo. Each movement is individually numbered (chronometer grade).

The dial layout is the standard 7750 Valjoux layout with small seconds at 9:00, chronograph seconds by central watch hand, 30 minutes at 12:00 and 12 hours at 6:00. The date disc is for a dial position at 3:00 or 4:00, with black numbers on a white disc. This is a date only layout movement by default.

The movement works well and is keeping a pretty accurate time. As for any other vintage or unused movement, a basic revision is recommended.
