GEORGES GAY – COMPAX – Swiss Made Automatic Chronograph Watch

Georges Gay is the name of the Swiss watches manufacturer founded in Vallee-de-Joux in the 1943 and specialized assembling and development of advanced complications watches. The Georges Gay Watches was the owner of DESOTOS brand, and they produced and sold a large number of top quality watches under both names until 2002. The brand was re-launched in 2021 under the management of the two nephews of the founder Georges Gay, and it is under a full development.

Ca. 38 mm diameter (not including the crown or the pushers) gold plated watch case.

Base Valjoux 7750 automatic chronograph movement, ball-bearing rotor, unidirectional winding, 1/8-seconds (running seconds) counter at 9:00, chronograph 30 minutes counter at 12:00, chronograph 12 hours counter at 6:00, date opening at 3:00. Cam switching, 28.800 A/h, power reserve ca. 46 hours. .

The watch is working and keeping a pretty precise time, but as for any other used or vintage watch, a basic revision is recommended.
