Returns & Refunds Policy

1. Overview

Thank you for shopping at chronoshop.ch. We are a sole proprietorship specializing in second-hand and vintage watch parts and accessories. Given the unique nature of our inventory—much of which is vintage, used, or NOS (New Old Stock)—all items are sold on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis unless otherwise stated. Please read this policy carefully before making a purchase. By completing a purchase on our Website, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.

2. "As Is" Sales Explained

The vast majority of the parts we sell are pre-owned, vintage, or surplus stock. This means they may show signs of age, storage wear, or use consistent with their age.

  • Used Parts: These parts are not new. They may have scratches, patina, faded lume, or other cosmetic imperfections.
  • New Old Stock (NOS): These parts are old, unsold stock. They may have original factory defects, shelf wear, or tarnishing due to age.
  • Functionality: While we do our best to describe the condition accurately (e.g., "runs but not tested for accuracy," "for parts only," "in good cosmetic condition"), we cannot guarantee the long-term performance of vintage parts once installed in a watch.

Therefore, change of mind, incompatibility with your specific watch model, or cosmetic imperfections inherent to a vintage item are not valid reasons for a return.

3. Eligibility for Returns

We only accept returns under the following specific circumstances:

A. Incorrect Item Shipped

If we made a mistake and sent you the wrong part (e.g., you ordered a crown size 6mm and we sent a 5mm crown), please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order.

B. Item Not As Described

If the item you receive materially differs from our description and photos (e.g., we described a movement as "running" but it is seized, or we missed a major crack in a dial), we will work to resolve the issue.

Important Condition for Returns: To be eligible for a return, the item must be in the same condition that you received it, in its original packaging. We must be able to verify the issue.

4. Non-Returnable Items

Due to the nature of second-hand parts and the risk of damage during installation, we cannot accept returns on the following:

  • Installed Parts: Any part that has been installed, fitted, or manipulated (e.g., hands that have been set, stems that have been cut).
  • Batteries: For safety reasons.
  • Straps/Bracelets: That have been sized or worn.
  • "For Parts/Not Working" Items: Items explicitly sold as non-working or for parts are final sale.
  • Clearance Items: Items sold in a "Clearance" or "Final Sale" category.
  • International Orders: Due to high shipping costs and customs complexities, all international sales are generally final. Exceptions will only be made for a defective or incorrect item.

5. Condition Descriptions

To avoid misunderstandings, please refer to our standard grading scale which we use in our listings:

  • Mint: Like new, minimal to no signs of wear.
  • Excellent: Light signs of use, no deep scratches or damage.
  • Good: Normal wear for a used part, may have light scratches or slight patina.
  • Fair: Heavy wear, visible scratches, dings, or significant patina.
  • For Parts/Repair: Item is not functioning, or has significant damage. Sold as-is for repair only. No returns.

6. Return Process

If you believe you have received an incorrect item or an item not as described, please follow this process:

  1. Contact Us First: Within 7 days of delivery, email us at [email protected] with your Order Number, a photo of the item you received, and a clear explanation of the issue.
  2. Review: We will review your request and respond within 2-3 business days.
  3. Return Authorization: If a return is approved, we will provide you with a Return Authorization number and the shipping address.
  4. Shipping the Return: Do not ship the item back without authorization. You will be responsible for paying the shipping costs for returning the item. We recommend using a trackable shipping service.
  5. Inspection: Once the returned item is received and inspected, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

7. Refunds

If your return is approved:

  • Full Refund: We will refund the original purchase price of the item.
  • Shipping Costs: Original shipping costs are non-refundable. Return shipping costs are also non-refundable.
  • Processing Time: Refunds will be processed to your original method of payment within 5-7 business days. The timing of the credit appearing in your account depends on your bank or credit card issuer.

8. Exchanges

We generally do not offer exchanges. If you need a different part, please follow the return process for the original item and place a new order for the correct part.

9. Damaged in Transit

In the rare event that your package arrives damaged by the carrier:

  • You must contact us within 48 hours of delivery.
  • Keep all original packaging and the damaged item.
  • Do not discard anything.
  • Take photos of the outer box and the damaged item.

We will guide you on how to file a claim or work with you to find a resolution. Vintage parts are unique, so a direct replacement may not always be available.
