Original Ardath – Super Long Distance – dual automatic men watch from the 1970s.
Ardath was founded in 1935 in Geneva by Edmond Dreyfuss, a veteran of the watch industry. The company specialized in mass-market Roskopf watches, before moving into upscale Swiss lever watches in the 1950s. After Dreyfuss’ death in 1954, the company followed industry trends, introducing waterproof watches and a small “5 silver coin” model just 17.2 mm diameter.
In 1962, Ardath introduced the Long Distance, a pioneering dual timezone watch with two separate movements side by side in a single oversized dial, one automatic with date and the other hand-winding. In 1968, the Super Long Distance model featured two automatic movements in a long rectangular case.
Ca. 30 mm (not including the crowns) x 56 mm diameter half-cuff style rose-gold plated watch case. Acrylic crystal for both watches.
This exquisite watch is powered by TWO Swiss automatic movements (ETA Cal. 2551).
Gold dial with applied 6, 9 and 12 Arabic numerals and hours markers for the upper watch (local time), and applied Roman numerals and hours markers for the watch below (home time). Date opening at 3:00 for both watches.

The watch is working and keeping a pretty precise time, but as for any other unused or vintage watch, a basic revision is recommended.
Most of the watches that I am selling are liquidation or collector items, therefor I make no claims and give no warranty regarding continual accuracy of time keeping. Used, antique or vintage watches may need servicing, even if they are in good running condition. Unless otherwise stated they may need to be cleaned, oiled, adjusted or timed. I cannot guarantee a used watch to be waterproof or water resistant.
