Section 01 · What we collect
Information we collect from you
When you place an order, register an account, or contact us, we collect the information you provide directly: name, billing and shipping address, email, phone number, and the contents of any message you send.
When you browse the catalogue, we automatically collect technical information necessary for the site to function: IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring URL, and timestamps. This information is processed in our server logs and retained for 30 days.
Payment card numbers are never stored on chronoshop systems. They are transmitted directly to our payment processors (Stripe, PayPal, TWINT) over their secure channels.
Section 02 · How we use it
Purposes of processing
We use the information you provide for the following purposes:
- Fulfilling your orders (shipping, invoicing, customer support)
- Communicating with you about a specific transaction or enquiry
- Operating and protecting the site (fraud prevention, security)
- Meeting our legal obligations (tax records, anti-money-laundering checks)
- Sending newsletter content only when you have explicitly subscribed
We do not use your personal data to build advertising profiles. We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We do not use your data for AI model training.
Section 03 · Sharing
Who else sees your information
We share information only with parties strictly necessary to deliver the service you have requested:
- Payment processors — Stripe, PayPal, TWINT, for transaction handling
- Shipping carriers — name and address only, for parcel delivery
- Hosting infrastructure — server provider in Switzerland, under DPA
- Tax authorities and regulators — when legally required
Each of the above is bound by their own data-protection obligations and processes information only as instructed by chronoshop.
Section 04 · Storage
How long we keep it
Order, invoice, and customer-account records are retained for the period required by Swiss tax and commercial law (currently 10 years after the end of the relevant fiscal year).
Server logs are retained for 30 days. Newsletter subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe. Information collected in support correspondence is retained for as long as your customer relationship is active and for 2 years thereafter.
Section 05 · Your rights
What you can ask us to do
Under FADP and GDPR you have the right to:

- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or your local supervisory authority
